in my early years in massachusetts, while acquiring a degree in studio art, I was drawn to the granite shores of rockport and the endless sand beaches and dunes of provincetown.
many decades later, having lived part of the year on the pacific coast of mexico for twenty years, and now full-time on the coast of maine, my paintings emerge as layered landscapes and light-filled abstractions: enveloping fog, disappearing shorelines, floating islands, luminous horizons and clouds, and always the sea.
I am inevitably drawn to the overlapping of air and water, light and time.
